Social Networks star, Dr. Mike shared his thoughts in a new interview on the Make America Healthy Again (Maha) movement and how he thinks the movement can be improved.
Mikhail Varshavski, a board -certified doctor and youtuber, has been told about his criticism of the Secretary of Health and Human Services, Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
However, he told Fox News Digital in an exclusive interview that he would “definitely” be open to sitting with Kennedy if he was given the opportunity.
The newly chaired Make America Make America commission chaired by Kennedy has been “in charge of researching and addressing the fundamental causes of the growing health crisis in America, with an initial focus. about chronic diseases of childhood,“The White House told Fox News Digital at the beginning of the Second Administration Trump.
Dr. Mike said of the Maha Movement: “I think the movement has lit a good conversation in which we talk about health. So I like it.”
But the doctor is skeptical of the methods of movement. Dr. Mike applauded the desire to limit the amount of ultra -processed food consumed by children, but he believes that problems with these foods go beyond the list of ingredients.
“The reason why ultra-processed foods have been as detrimental to us as a society is not because there is a specific chemical found in each of these foods. It is because foods have been designed so that they make you hungry very soon when eating them, so you do not satien.” “Two, they are usually empty calories, that is, there are no good micronutrients.”
He believes that the overale of these foods is partially responsible for the obesity epidemic that is facing America today, and thus argues that the problem is with excess instead than simply what is in these foods.
“I want to be as useful and practical as possible,” he said. “This is what family medicine does. We find practical solutions for complex problems with our patients. And to focus and spoil on specific chemicals will not come to us.”
A family -owned family medicine doctor with 14 million YouTube subscribers, makes videos focused on providing entertainment, information and answering questions about various health issues. Dr. Mike migrated to the United States of Russia with his family at the age of 6.
Dr. Mike does not believe that focusing on ingredients will lead to “drastic changes”.
“ These manufacturers are still trying to ensure that children consume ultra-processed foods. This is their fiduciary responsibility. They want to make money for their shareholders. But what we have to do is change this incentivation and, in fact, put the laws on books, guidelines on the book, where it is not only a hand-handed hand agreement and saying that, please erase these ingredients, but make sure.
Dr. Mike uses his YouTube channel to provide health information to millions of his subscribers, but he also believes that government agencies need to play a role in education to help North -Americans make better dietary decisions.
“We must regain the education that surrounds the nutritional labels. And this must happen on a large scale.
Dr. Mike wrote a Fox News Op-Ed in May about his opinions on RFK Jr. and the management of the HHS, stating that “the health system of our nation is in the discomfort and the leadership of HHS plays a key role in resolving this disaster.”
Dr. Mike claims that Kennedy, known for his vaccine skepticism, shares medical “misinformation” and does not think he is the right person to run the department.
“Today I say that Kennedy is the wrong person to lead HHS. The integrity of our nation’s health agencies requires leadership based on facts, research and transparency, not disinformation,” said Dr. Mike..
However, he is open to talking to him.
“I think no matter how much you agree with someone, the first step is to find a common ground,” said Dr. Mike. “And if there is an appetite for wanting to take healthier people, wanting people to make better decisions for themselves, I’m all for it.”
The Maha Commission focuses on four political directives to reverse chronic diseases, including the transparency of North -American to health data to “ avoid conflicts of interest in all health research with federally funding; prioritize “ standard gold research on why Americans are sick ” in all health research funded by the Federal; of affordable; and to expand the options for health coverage and treatment “for beneficial changes in lifestyle and disease prevention”.
He went on to comment, a HHS spokesman told Fox News Digital: “Orientation to harmful additives is not” poignant “, it is a necessary first step to handle a broken eating system that feeds the US chronic illness epidemic The 6 years are obese: 270% have increased since the 1970’s.
“Significant and meaningful systemic change requires more than general tips; it requires daring actions and accountability. This is exactly what Secretary Kennedy delivers.”
